To ensure that the crop bears fruit abundantly, it is better to plant the bushes in beds that are well lit by the sun.

At the same time, you cannot place the beds in a lowland where water will accumulate after rains. The soil in such a place takes a long time to dry and warm up. This will negatively affect the condition of the strawberries.

As for the soil, it should be fertile. An excellent harvest can be obtained on light and medium loams, sandy loam soils.

The acidity of the soil should not be too high. The ideal level is pH 5.5-6.5.

In addition, when planting any berry, you should take into account the rules of crop rotation.

Experienced gardeners note that good predecessors for strawberries will be legumes, various greens, and some root crops. But it is best to plant seedlings after green manure.

You cannot plant strawberries after potatoes, pumpkins, or cabbage. In this case, you cannot count on a rich and high-quality harvest.
