Although a carrot bed can be found on any summer cottage, not everyone manages to harvest a decent crop.
A common problem that plant growers have to deal with is the rotting of the root crop while it is still in the ground.
Fortunately, according to experienced farmers, this problem can be easily prevented with ordinary potassium permanganate.
To do this, you will need to prepare a solution of 10 liters of water, 3 grams of dry boric acid and 3 grams of potassium permanganate.
All components should be thoroughly mixed, after which the composition should be used for watering.
Water the carrots with potassium permanganate at the roots, having moistened the soil 2 hours before.
The procedure should be carried out after 20 days. Farmers who have tried this method on their beds claim: 2-3 such waterings - and the carrots will grow clean and healthy.
In addition to preventing rot, you should also take care of another scourge – the carrot fly. This time, you will need to water the vegetable with a solution of 10 liters of water and 1 tablespoon of red or black ground pepper.
