These beautiful and lush flowers are replanted and planted in cases where they need to be rejuvenated so that they once again delight the eye with abundant flowering.

But how to do it correctly so as not to harm the plants?

Gardeners note that herbaceous peonies should be replanted every 4-5 years, tree peonies - 5-6 years, but with proper care they can grow in one place for up to 10-15 years.

It is better to do the procedure in the fall, about a month before the frosts begin. If you do this in the spring, there is a risk that the plants will get sick and will take root worse. If there is no other way out, then it is better to transplant flowers in April, while it is cool outside.

The new location should be well-lit by the sun, but may be slightly shaded at midday. The location should also be protected from drafts.

The soil should be neutral in acidity.

The planting hole should be prepared two weeks in advance. It should be 60 centimeters deep and 50-60 cm wide. Drainage and some sand should be placed on the bottom.

A fertile soil layer is also needed, so you should mix a bucket of humus or compost with 100 grams of superphosphate and 70 grams of potassium sulfate. A glass of wood ash will not be superfluous.

As soon as the peonies are replanted, they need to be watered generously and mulched.
