How to Protect Seedling Boxes from Cats: Advice from Gardeners

Cats and kittens are no less happy about the spring warmth than the first shoots of vegetable crops, which gardeners are afraid to even sneeze at.

This reverent attitude does not stop pets, and if a box with seedlings seems attractive for organizing a daytime bed in it, then the cat will not be stopped. Cats are no better in this regard.

This is how experienced gardeners protect their window gardens from the invasion of furry pests.

It doesn't matter what grows in the box or flowerpot. The point is that the cat will want to warm itself in the sun, and plants will only interfere with this.

There is no point in swearing at your pets. As soon as you leave the house, the cat will be back where you chased it away.

To begin with, you can try attaching some tape to the windowsill with the sticky side up.

Once on it, the cat will start to stick, it won’t like it, and the animal will decide not to show up there for a while.

The next option that is safe for plants and pets is spices.

Cats do not like strong, spicy and pungent smells.

However, not all of these ingredients can be used where young growth is just beginning to emerge.

In this regard, turmeric comes to the rescue; it can be sprinkled on top of the soil in flowerpots.

You can also place lemon and orange peels or leave cotton wool treated with citrus essential oils nearby.
