In order to get a harvest of vegetables and fruits as early as possible, seedlings are usually planted in greenhouses.
However, you can forget about abundant fruiting if you ignore the preparation of the soil and the structure itself.
What does this much-needed preparation consist of? First, it is worth throwing off a layer of snow from the roof of the greenhouse (if there is any, of course), and then rake the snowdrifts away from the outer walls by about 1.5 meters - this way the air inside the greenhouse will warm up faster.
After this, you can begin work directly inside the structure. Use a shovel to scatter snow on the ground - this way, the melt water will soak the dry soil and, in addition, attract earthworms.
Use the same shovel to chop up the green manure that was sown in the autumn months, and then loosen the soil with a flat cutter to a depth of 6-8 cm.
The next stage is disinfection of the greenhouse. It consists of washing all surfaces with a soap solution, getting rid of dirt and dust, and then treating the greenhouse with a solution of potassium permanganate.
To prepare it, you will need to dilute 20 g of potassium permanganate in a liter of water, then pour the product into a spray bottle and spray the greenhouse from the inside.
Bleach, copper sulfate or Bordeaux mixture are considered worthy alternatives to potassium permanganate.
