It is important not to overfeed raspberries, but you also cannot allow the bushes to suffer from a nutritional deficiency.

Experienced gardeners believe that it is enough to feed raspberries 4 times during the season.

First feeding

It's spring outside, the last snow is turning into a puddle, and the raspberry is gradually throwing off the veil of winter. As soon as the shoots reach 10-12 cm, you can apply the first fertilizer. First of all, it should be nitrogen fertilizer. It is important for raspberries to form strong shoots and healthy green mass.

Second feeding

The raspberry develops and now reaches a height of 50 cm. At this stage, the bush needs not only nitrogen. Potassium and phosphorus are included in the "diet". But nitrogen still dominates in the nutritional compositions for some time.

Third feeding

In the future, raspberries should receive nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in equal proportions. Lignification for remontant bushes is not so important, since they are removed in the fall.

Fourth feeding

In August, phosphorus and potassium come to the fore, and nitrogen is added in small doses.

Watering

Regular soil moistening is very important for remontant raspberries. This should be done especially during the fruiting period (August, September, and sometimes October).
