There are several types of additives that are best left until better times or never used.
Sand
Not all sand is bad. Washed river sand lightens the soil and improves water exchange. Construction sand, which contains various impurities, is not suitable at all.
Manure
It is better to leave the fertilizer for open ground. Abundant release of methane and carbon dioxide does not allow delicate roots to get enough oxygen.
Compost
Unripe compost lacks nitrogen, so it is useless. Leaf litter also releases substances that prevent seed germination.
Sawdust
Seeds can be germinated in this material, but experts do not recommend using it in soil mixtures.
Organic waste
The process of decomposition and rotting is destructive for seedlings. By introducing organic matter, you can destroy the seedlings or slow down their development.
