Any gardener can give a couple of tips on how to get rid of pests using safe folk remedies.
But before you start watering or treating your beds, you need to find out what pests may pose a threat to your plantings. Here's how to protect flowers and vegetables.
First, let's look at the signs of plant damage.
These may include holes in the leaves, stunted growth, webbing or sticky growth, and changes in leaf color and shape.
The saddest thing that can happen is the death of plants.
Pests
1. Against thrips - these are small brown bugs (1.5 mm) use biopreparations "Fitoverm" or "MatrinBio". Of the folk tricks, castor oil or Vaseline helps out.
2. Whitefly, which attacks leaves, is removed by Fitoverm, Vertimek and Iskra-BIO. Folk remedies are the same as in the first case.
3. Sometimes you have to use chemicals against spider mites - "Kleschevit" or "Tsvetolyuks". Of the biological preparations, "Fitoverm" and "MatrinBio" help, and of the folk remedies, spraying with a solution of household or tar soap.
4. Aphids can be washed off with a hose, but it is better to use Fitoverm, Biokill or Iskra-BIO, as well as a solution (100 g of soda, the same amount of laundry soap per 10 liters) for spraying.
5. Slugs can only be scared away. No harmless chemicals have been invented against them yet, and popular wisdom advises using ash or tobacco dust.
Also, don’t forget about prevention – this includes weeding, loosening the soil and deep digging of the beds in the fall with the obligatory removal of plant debris.
