What gardener hasn’t dreamed of growing large onion heads that would barely fit in the palm of his hand?

Chinese farmers have revealed their version of growing vegetables. According to them, the method works, the main thing is to strictly follow the rules.

Choosing a place for sowing

Farmers advise planting onions in a bed where tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage or pumpkins were previously grown. The area for onions is dug up, watered and ridges are made 15 cm high and with a gap of 30 cm.

Planting material

Several weeks before sowing, onion sets are heated for 8 hours at a temperature of 45 °C. According to gardeners, this action will destroy pathogens that are hiding on the planting material.

Sowing

The husk is removed, leaving the sprout. 24 hours before sowing, the bulbs are soaked in warm water, and then planted at a depth of 2-3 cm in prepared ridges.

Aftercare

The first top dressing is bird droppings. The fertilizer is applied a few weeks after sowing. At the same time, do not forget to water the onion regularly if the weather is dry.

Stop watering the onions 3 weeks before harvesting. Trim the roots 7 days before digging so that the bulbs fill out and become juicier.
