Just three mistakes can lead to carrots starting to “jump” out of the beds ahead of time, without ever ripening.
Externally, it looks like this: the top of the root crop begins to peek out from the soil. Everything would be fine, but because of this, the taste of the vegetable becomes worse and you have to trim more during cooking.
These are the mistakes that lead to such consequences.
Mistake #1
It all starts with improper sowing, or more precisely, with the depth of seed placement in the soil. Because the seeds are close to the surface of the earth, they develop faster and soon the top of the root crop begins to peek out of the ground.
Mistake #2
If you do not properly prepare the bed for sowing carrots, especially if the soil on the site is heavy. In such a situation, the vegetable simply has a hard time growing downwards due to the dense soil, and the top ends up on the surface again.
Mistake #3
Incorrect watering, when the water stream is directed directly at the rows with plantings, and not between the rows, leads to the fact that the soil at the base of the growing vegetable is washed away. In this case, even if errors at the stage of planting and soil preparation were excluded, it will not be possible to avoid unpleasant consequences.
