Any gardener dreams of starting a new gardening season without old mistakes and wants to know where fatal mistakes are most often made.

We will tell you what three mistakes prevent a gardener from growing healthy seedlings and collecting a rich harvest.

Mistake #1: Seeds

The first mistakes summer residents make are when buying seeds or storing them. As for the purchase, you need to pay attention to the shelf life, as well as the variety and climatic features. And you can store supplies at a temperature of about 10 degrees Celsius, air humidity no higher than 55-60%.

If everything is done correctly, the result will depend on the preliminary treatment, planting depth and proper watering.

Mistake #2: Landing

Having saved the seeds correctly, you need to choose the right soil for sowing them. Gardeners advise buying soil mixtures in the store, and if necessary, disinfecting the soil. Along with the soil, it is necessary to treat the planting containers that have been used for more than one year.

Mistake #3: Growing

It is important to calculate the number of future shoots so that they have enough light, moisture and nutrients. If the lack of light can be compensated by installing an additional lamp, and nutrients by fertilizing, then when the plants become crowded, they will have to be replanted, and this procedure is not useful for all crops.

This primarily concerns cucumber and zucchini seedlings.

Also, one must not forget about hardening off the seedlings, which begins several days before transplanting into a greenhouse or soil.
