Many summer residents experience difficulties when choosing a container for growing seedlings.

There are so many options! And each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Of course, you can fill ordinary plastic cups with soil. It's very cheap. But it's hardly environmentally friendly.

In addition, you can damage the sprouts and destroy the soil lump when removing the plastic “shell” before transplanting the seedlings into open ground.

A more useful and safe option for the plant is to use peat tablets or pots. But you need to buy them specially.

If a summer resident wants to save money and find the ideal eco-friendly container, then he needs to pay attention to the following options.

Toilet paper roll

Are you out of toilet paper? Only a cardboard tube left? Don't throw it away under any circumstances!

This is, oddly enough, a very valuable thing. It can be useful for many household purposes, including in the country.

Thus, the sleeve can easily be transformed into a small pot for growing seedlings. To do this, simply bend the lower part of the tube inward.

The result will be a small container that can be filled with soil. Next, the seeds should be placed in the soil.

Cardboard material decomposes quite quickly, so there will be no problems with the environmental friendliness of the container.

Eggshell

When breaking eggs, try not to break most of the shell. Cut off only the top part and pour the contents into a bowl.

You will have a "cup" in your hands. You can pour soil into it and put in seed material.

The seedlings feel great in such a container. Moreover, both on the windowsill and after transplanting into open ground (the shells do not need to be removed from the seedlings, because the shell of chicken eggs contains many compounds useful for plants).

Citrus fruits

There is also this option: you can take half an orange and a lemon and clean this "hemisphere" from the pulp. You will get a "pot" in which you can grow seedlings.

It turns out cheap and environmentally friendly. The citrus "container" is suitable for sending to open ground. The peel will not interfere in any way. On the contrary, it will become an additional source of nutrients.
