When planning to plant broccoli in your garden, it is important to pay attention to some nuances.

Early varieties will form small heads in large quantities; with late ripening, the heads are larger and their weight reaches up to one and a half kg.

Broccoli will enjoy growing in a period of short daylight hours. This means that the best time for the plant is before May or from mid-July.

How to Fertilize Broccoli Beds

For the full growth and development of broccoli, the nutritional composition of the soil is important.

The beds are prepared as follows: one bucket of humus per square meter, dolomite flour or chalk 300 g, and mineral fertilizer.

During the period of active growth, cabbage is very responsive to nitrogen fertilizers. Bird droppings diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10 will come in handy. You can prepare a nutritious fertilizer from weeds.

The vegetable crop is planted at the age of 20-25 days. Overgrown plants will not bring you the expected effect and the heads will be small.

Sow broccoli in a prepared bed at a distance of 15 cm, remembering to thin out the cabbage when it grows.
