Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert at the online publication Belnovosti , an agronomist and the author of the blog Conscious Gardening, explained why it is worth mulching raspberries after the snow melts.
This procedure prevents weeds from appearing and protects berries from pests. The number of wormy fruits decreases or there are none at all.

If sawdust is used, it should be remembered that it absorbs nitrogen, which is often low in the soil if appropriate fertilizers have not been applied. Therefore, in such cases, nitrogen supplements are necessary.
