Tree pruning is intended to ensure that plums please not only with their appearance, but also with an abundant harvest.

An expert of the online publication "Belnovosti", agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh revealed the rules for carrying out this procedure, which inexperienced plant growers may not know about.

First of all, it is worth mentioning that plum pruning should be done at least once a year. It is worth starting the operation as early as possible.

When pruning, maintain the branching sequence, leaving a minimum distance of 20 cm between skeletal branches.

Make sure that all shoots receive sufficient sunlight and evenly fill the space of the crown.

An important condition: the higher the tier, the fewer branches there should be.

At the same time, those shoots that are located at the top should not cast too much shadow on the lower ones.

You will protect the branches from breaking, which can often be caused by excessively heavy fruits, if you do not leave shoots growing from the trunk at an angle of less than 45 degrees.

And finally, do not forget that all plant remains should be burned, having equipped a suitable place for this purpose in advance.
