Arugula is attracting more and more attention from gardeners due to its beneficial properties.

In addition, the plant is cold-resistant, and therefore it is sown not only in early spring, but also in late autumn. We will tell you how to collect an extra-early harvest of greens.

Arugula shows good results even when the temperature drops to 4 degrees below zero.

This plant belongs to the cruciferous family, and its seeds are somewhat similar to cabbage seeds.

How to sow

Arugula can be sown both in furrows and scattered, but it must be in moist soil. After sowing, the seeds are sprinkled with a layer of loose soil up to 0.5 cm thick. Then the bed is moistened with a spray.

If everything is done correctly and the seeds are not expired, then the shoots should appear in 2-3 days.

When to sow

You can sow arugula for seedlings at the end of February. It easily adapts after transplantation and can be transplanted into a greenhouse already at the beginning of March. Its seedling period is short – 7-10 days.

Before planting arugula, do not add fertilizer to the soil, otherwise the greens will accumulate nitrates.
