How to Get Rid of Worms in Berries
The appearance of worms in raspberries is a headache for gardeners.
You can get rid of them if you use time-tested methods. First of all, you need to find out the reasons why worms end up inside the berries.
Usually, the appearance of worms is preceded by damage to raspberries by pests, including the raspberry fly, grape leaf roller, and raspberry beetle.
During the period of budding and flowering, the beetles are shaken off into a container and then destroyed by burning in a fire. But not everyone will like this method. It must be carried out daily until the pests are completely destroyed, but not everyone has time for this.
To protect raspberry bushes in spring, when the sun is not yet hot and pests have not crawled out, it is necessary to treat the bushes with hot water (temperature 70-80 degrees). And this must be done so that the water gets on the stems and roots.
Raspberry bushes are covered with compost or sawdust. Mulch will not allow pests to get to the surface.
Raspberries can be sprayed with a mustard solution at a rate of 20 g per bucket of water. The solution should be left to stand for 10-12 hours, then the bushes should be treated several times.
If you don’t have mustard on hand, you can replace it with baking soda, mixing two tablespoons in 10 liters.
