February is the month when summer residents actively begin to plan plantings and sow plants for seedlings.
But there is no need to rush if you want to get high-quality pepper seedlings.
It is advisable to plant the seeds of this crop in mid-March. Young plants can be transplanted into open ground only after 70-80 days.
What to do to ensure that seedlings are strong and healthy
If the seeds are from the store, they are red, green or blue, then this is a guarantee that they are ready for planting. There is no need to process them.
If the seeds are grey or yellowish, then preliminary processing is necessary.
Chlorhexidine copes with this quite well. It is enough to hold the seeds in the preparation for 30 minutes and you can start planting.
If the seeds are sown in a common box, it is more convenient to make rows 1 cm deep. The distance between them should be 2 cm. It is important that the plants do not compete for light and moisture later.
After planting, you need to water the soil and cover the container with seeds with film or glass. The pepper should be warm, so the box can be placed closer to the radiator. If the seeds are warm, the first shoots may appear in five days. Then you need to air the plants every day, and you also need to remember about watering.
