Micronutrient deficiencies
If young onions lack nitrogen fertilizer, then the tips of the leaves may turn yellow, become thickened and become short.
Feed the onion area with nitrogen fertilizer. Or a natural remedy - an infusion of animal manure and urea.
Infestation of plants with pests
Pests can be the cause of yellowing onion leaves.
Stem nematode
It populates the leaves from the inside in the form of small white worms. They are the most dangerous pests of onions. To prevent the worms from settling in the soil, you need to treat it and the sets with insecticides before planting.
Onion moth
They differ from nematodes in color. The moth has a yellowish color with brown warts. To get rid of this pest, the garden bed should be treated with an insecticide before planting.
Onion fly
This fly is active in April and May. When only the tips are yellow, and the bottoms in the ground are gnawed and rotten - this is a sign of damage to the onion by the onion fly, which laid eggs.
Try pollinating the onion rows with tobacco dust mixed with sunflower ash in a 1:1 ratio. Damaged specimens should be immediately removed from the bed and burned.
