Many summer residents try to scare away birds from their lands as much as possible, because bird invasions do little good.
With their noisy company they are capable of pecking berries and fruits, plucking tree buds and feeding on seeds.
But experienced gardeners are in no hurry to drive them out, believing that sometimes it is not a sin to share the harvest with the birds. So, birds, which, on the contrary, are important to attract.
Woodpeckers
These are the famous "snitches" in the garden. But they do not pound on the tree crowns out of idleness. The woodpecker is a real garden help against insects that harm plants. They are called upon to destroy the eggs of bark beetles, various caterpillars, sawflies, and geometers.
The nimble bird can extract larvae hidden in twisted wood and causes almost no damage to the trunks.
If a woodpecker often flies into the garden, this is a kind of signal that harmful insects could have settled on the trees. In this case, the bird acts as an insecticide, but only a natural one and harmless to the environment.
Sparrows
These "lively ones" are not averse to pecking seeds, nibbling sweet fruits and juicy berries in the garden. But the main thing that birds need is protein.
The protein diet consists of various "destroyers" of fruits: aphids, leaf roller caterpillars, beetles, and also simple flies. And the sparrow will also help summer residents rid strawberry beds of leaf beetles and save the berry harvest.
