You can sow annual hops on your plot without any fears – the plant is guaranteed not to grow too large.
But with the perennial, according to the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , the situation is more complicated - with its stems, reaching 17 m in length, it is capable of filling a significant territory.
However, the above-ground part of the hops is not the main problem, although it covers other plantings.
The worst thing is that the growing roots of hops suppress the root system of other plants.
Of course, herbicides will help to eradicate the annoying plant. But if you are against any chemicals in your garden and vegetable garden, use folk methods - they are no less effective.
For example, you can use bird droppings - too much of it will cause the hops to dry out.
Another option is a salt solution, for the preparation of which you will need to dilute 1 kg of salt in 5 liters of water, and then boil the resulting mixture. This mixture should be poured under the root.
Finally, try a vinegar solution - a liquid made by mixing an equal volume of water and 9% vinegar, and then water the weed.
