How to water a ficus in spring so that it does not go bald and branches beautifully: a note for housewives

Ficus is a capricious plant that requires close attention.

If you do not follow the care rules, instead of a lush ficus with a beautiful crown, a shabby stem with sparse leaves will sit in the pot.

Even a novice gardener can grow a ficus. But it is important to ensure timely watering of the plant.

How to water a ficus correctly

It's time to water the plant when the soil in the pot has dried out to a depth of about 2-3 cm. Young ficuses are watered more often - when the top layer has dried out.

The plant can be watered with tap water at room temperature, if it has been left to stand for several days to allow all impurities to settle.

In spring, ficuses need regular watering. However, you should not overdo it with soil moistening: 2 waterings in 7 days are enough.

In summer, add organic or mineral fertilizers to the water for irrigation and feed the plant every 14 days.

In order for the ficus to begin to branch and produce lateral shoots, regular pruning will be required.
