They say that spring fertilizing is of great importance for apricots. Timely additions significantly increase the chances of a rich and high-quality harvest.

Agronomist, landscape designer, botanical artist, and art therapist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told the online publication Belnovosti about when and what fertilizers to apply to apricots.

It’s not difficult, but without knowledge it’s impossible to carry out the procedure correctly.

The reason is that an overdose of nutrients will provoke the growth of young shoots, but not fruiting.

Organics

Of these additives, it is recommended to use wood ash, compost or chicken manure. But it is ash that can prevent the release of gum. Ash is used, alternating with mullein or chicken manure. The main thing is to avoid monotony in fertilizing. Up to 1 kg of ash is added under an adult tree, and then dug into the soil.

Mineral fertilizers

In this case, the main thing is also to avoid overdose.

It is worth paying attention to urea, ammonium nitrate, potassium salt (potassium sulfate), and superphosphate. A mixture of urea (4 tbsp.) and potassium salt (2 tbsp.) has proven itself well.

Important! Apricot is fed only on moist soil, otherwise the roots can be burned.
