Cherry harvest depends not only on the age of the tree. If a tree older than 5 years suddenly ceases to satisfy the interests of the gardener, then it is necessary to change the care scheme.

We will tell you how and what to feed the tree with if there are obvious interruptions in the harvest.

Feeding scheme

1. The first spring procedure should be carried out before flowering. Ammonium nitrate is added to the trunk circle. Consumption is 20 g per 1 sq. m of the trunk zone. Alternatively, foliar feeding with urea can be carried out. The solution is prepared at the rate of 2 g of the preparation per bucket of water.

2. The next portion of fertilizers is applied at the flowering stage. A nutrient solution is prepared. 5 liters of mullein and 10 glasses of ash are added to 50 liters of clean water.

Trees under 7 years old are fed at the rate of 1 bucket of ready-made fertilizer per root. All that is older are watered with 2-3 buckets.

In this way, you can deoxidize the soil under the tree, which will also be beneficial.

3. 2 weeks after the second feeding, you need to add a nutrient solution, which is prepared from:

  • 1 tbsp potassium sulfate;
  • 1.5 glasses of superphosphate;
  • 10 liters of water.

Consumption: 1 bucket per square meter of tree trunk circle.

Useful tips

  • Fertilizers are not applied to dry soil;
  • don't forget to control the acidity of the soil;
  • Attract pollinators by spraying the tree with honey (sugar) syrup during flowering.
