Although apricot has taken root in our latitudes, it still remains demanding in terms of a number of agricultural technology issues.

It is especially important to pay attention to this crop after the spring awakening. We will tell you what activities are carried out with the mark "mandatory" - then the harvest will be rich.

They start with cleaning around the tree. They remove shelters and all kinds of insulation, rake up the remains of vegetation, and loosen the soil.

Trimming

Mature trees are tidied up before the buds appear. Dry, frostbitten and damaged branches (by pests or diseases) are removed. You can also get rid of branches that do not bear fruit.

For young trees, formative pruning is recommended.

Prevention and protection

Apricots are treated with an aqueous solution of urea (700 g per bucket of water). In advanced cases, insecticides and fungicides are used.

Fertilizing and watering

In spring the tree is watered:

  • when buds appear;
  • the appearance of buds;
  • during flowering.

Up to 3 buckets of water are needed per square meter of tree trunk circle.

Fertilizer is applied 2-3 times before summer. When the sap comes, nitrogen is applied (urea, saltpeter or chicken manure). Organic matter is applied once every 3 years.
