Any gardener knows that plants need water for growth and development.
At the same time, according to the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , not all gardeners think about when it is worth watering the beds, how often it should be done, how much water to pour out and when the procedure can be postponed.
So, in the case of tomatoes, you should only use warm water for watering.
Try to ensure that the stream is directed under the root and that the water does not splash, hitting the leaves - this is fraught with sunburn and fungal diseases.
If we talk about the time of day, the preferred time for watering is in the morning.
If you are planting seedlings, the hole should be watered generously, and after planting, you should completely stop watering for as long as 10 days (the water that was poured out during replanting will be enough for this period).
Before flowering, if you notice that the soil has become dry, add 2 liters of water under each bush. During flowering, the volume of water should be increased to 5 liters.
When fruits appear, you will need twice as much water, and the frequency of watering should be reduced. The water rate should be reduced when the tomatoes begin to turn brown, red and yellow, otherwise they may crack.
Experienced gardeners advise stopping watering when tomatoes are ripening en masse, so that the fruits are not watery. As a rule, by this time the roots are able to independently extract sufficient moisture from the depths.
