Experienced gardeners explained what to do if an apple tree is attacked by voracious mice.
Protecting a tree from rodents is not easy. Hungry pests will get to what they want.
Some gardeners prematurely say goodbye to a tree that has been gnawed by mice. It is too early to despair, the plant can be saved and continue to receive a rich harvest.
You just need to know what product to use to treat the damaged areas.
The only tree that cannot be saved is one that mice have gnawed from roots to crown. In other cases, the tree should not be abandoned to its fate, much less cut down.
In the spring, prepare a special product to treat the damage. Garden pitch and film are not needed.
The putty is prepared from 4 ingredients:
- clay;
- ash;
- lime;
- copper sulfate.
They are diluted with water to make a putty. This mixture will speed up healing and protect against pathogenic bacteria. The gardener does not need to do anything else - wounds on the bark tend to heal.
