The beneficial properties of celery are simply countless - it contains a large number of vitamins, many minerals, and essential acids.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to care for the vegetable so that a rich harvest of healthy celery is ensured.

First of all, it is worth paying enough attention to loosening the soil - the plant roots love oxygen.

However, the procedure should be carried out carefully so as not to damage the roots, and stop loosening the soil when the stems grow and begin to rise above the bed.

The best time to water is early in the morning. The water should be warm. Mulching will help retain moisture and get rid of weeds.

If the stems become too thick, you can slightly remove the side leaves to provide access to sunlight. In addition, you should remove dry and damaged leaves.

Experienced gardeners fertilize twice, using nitrogen for this. When the root crop head is tied, it would not hurt to feed the plants with boric acid.

There is no need to hill up celery; instead, expose the root head so that the side roots do not grow.

Two weeks before harvesting, remove the side leaves and expose the root even more.
