When growing any plants on the plot, you want to get not only a large, but also a safe harvest.

To achieve this goal, most gardeners use folk methods of feeding, which give excellent results.

However, sometimes mistakes can be made that can harm the future harvest.

Some folk methods reduce the effectiveness of the product, while others can cause great harm to plants.

Mistake number one. Incorrect use of manure and bird droppings

This fertilizer is used everywhere, considering it a folk and safe remedy. However, this is a misconception.

Unrotted manure can cause serious harm to crops. It will burn the roots due to overheating during decomposition.

Only cucumbers can withstand this. It also contains a large number of nutrients, the excess of which leads to inhibition of plant growth.

Mistake two. Excess boron

Feeding plants with boron stimulates fruiting. Tomatoes and apple trees are especially sensitive to boron. When using, you need to adhere to strict dosage standards - 0.5 tsp. of boric acid per 10 liters of water.

Spraying of tomatoes is carried out twice per season - at the beginning of flowering and 21 days after. Boron has the ability to accumulate in fruits and in large quantities is harmful to human health.

Mistake three. Excess of ammonia

This is one of the most popular methods of fertilizing, increasing the activity of plant growth. However, excessive use of ammonia leads to an excess of nitrogen, which causes the fruits to become depleted.

Mistake number four. Incorrect use of the walker

The grass is poured with water and left to sit for 5-7 days to ferment. This type of feeding increases the activity of plant growth, the leaves become large and dark.

Such changes occur due to the high nitrogen content that occurs during the process of rotting greenery. However, excess nitrogen should not be allowed, otherwise a large amount of nitrates will form in the fruits and leaves.

Thus, you can feed plants with fermentation solution only in the first half of summer, no more than once every 14 days.

Mistake #5: Using Hot Mulch

It is a thick layer of fresh grass that heats up as it rots. It is not a fertilizer, but it also releases a lot of nitrogen because the fruit is nitrated.

Mistake number six. Excess bone meal

This ingredient contains a lot of phosphorus. Gardeners add fertilizer to plants without sparing. However, excessive amounts of phosphorus make plants weak, root development becomes slower, and therefore the harvest will not be large.

Mistake number seven. Overdosing on yeast solutions

Yeast stimulates growth well, especially in cucumbers. However, excessive use of such fertilizer can lead to shedding of flowers and overgrowth of the plant itself.

Folk methods of plant feeding increase crop yields and protect against diseases. You just need to follow the rules and recommendations for their use.
