Raspberry degenerates
A clear sign of this trouble is a deteriorating harvest year after year, thinning bushes, small and tasteless berries. It is possible that the neighbor's wild raspberries are growing behind the fence, which have contributed, but this is not the only reason.
First, fertilizer
Degeneration of varietal characteristics is facilitated by a lack of nutrients in the soil or planting where raspberries or related crops have already grown. It is necessary to add organic matter during planting and also after the seasons (in the fall), and in the spring and before flowering, you need to take care of complex fertilizers.
Secondly, diseases and pests
The bush can spend most of its energy on fighting pests and diseases. In this case, it simply won't have the strength for normal fruiting. Therefore, we regularly treat and trim the bushes.
Thirdly, the neighboring thickets
Wild raspberry shoots, if you do not properly fence your own plantings, then, having made their way from behind the fence, they can ruin the varietal qualities of your berry patch.
