Those who are planning to plant a pear tree in their garden plot need to know that they will have to wait 6-8 years for it to bear fruit.
This is normal for pears. But there are several ways to get juicy fruits a little earlier.
How to speed up the fruiting of pears, says the expert of the online publication "Belnovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
How to make a pear tree bear fruit faster
First, you need to choose the right seedlings. Most gardeners prefer two-year-old seedlings.
They produce a harvest earlier than annuals, but only if the roots are in good condition.
In two-year-old seedlings, the roots are usually cut off and severely damaged during transplantation.
One-year-old seedlings will take root better and begin to bear fruit earlier.
Secondly, don’t be lazy to dig a large planting hole. The diameter should be about 80 centimeters, the depth – 50 cm.
Thirdly, the pear must be fed when planting. If no fertilizer was applied when planting, feed it with sodium humate 3 times per season, it promotes shoot growth.
Pruning is also very important. After planting, the seedlings need to be shortened by a third. In the second year, pruning is not necessary.
