If you didn't have enough time to replant peonies in the fall, don't worry - you can do it when spring comes.
According to the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , you should start replanting as soon as you see the first green branch on the bush.
After the end of winter, a branch grows on the bush that is colored red, and after some time it acquires a green tint - this is the signal.
It is worth preparing for the transplant in advance - about 2 weeks beforehand, you will need to dig a hole, at the bottom of which you will need to place a nutrient mixture.
It contains a glass of ash, the same amount of bone meal, humus, peat and 50 g of superphosphate.
After the fertilizer has settled in the hole, pour a glass of water into it, then cover the hole in the ground with agrofibre and leave it like that for a week.
Before replanting, peonies should be dug around and thoroughly moistened, and the next day, dug out using a pitchfork.
Then move the bush to the center of the prepared hole, sprinkle with soil and water generously. The peony should be placed so that the height of the buds above the ground is about 6 cm.
Once the bush has recovered from the stress experienced during transplantation, do not forget to wrap and tie it up.
