Many flower lovers forget about a feature that is typical for a number of indoor plants.

At first glance, it may seem insignificant, but professionals have a different opinion.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti , an agronomist and the author of the blog Conscious Gardening, told us what mistake many gardeners make.

Many housewives plant flowers in a larger pot from the very beginning, so that they will last for years. And then they notice that the plant seems to freeze. The flower does not grow and blooms weakly.

The expert explained that when choosing flower pots, you need to do exactly the opposite. Don't look for "to grow into," but choose smaller containers. This applies even to those plants that will eventually grow a powerful root system.

The problem with large pots is that flowers spend a lot of energy trying to fill all the free space with roots. When they reach the goal faster, there is energy left for growth and flowering.

Experts recommend choosing pots that are 1-2 cm wider and deeper than the plant's root system. Then they will not remain "short", but will develop harmoniously and delight the owners with flowering.
