Expecting miracles from exotic plants, you can run into a completely stunning effect. This happens when buds appear on the plants, then flowers, and then a disgusting smell.

Here are some indoor plants that can puzzle a gardener during flowering in living spaces.

Amorphophallus

Amorphophallus konjac from the Araceae family reaches 30 cm in diameter. It has one single leaf and a 30-centimeter inflorescence. Life in the room from the beginning of flowering will be doomed to suffering and torment, unless by a lucky chance your nose gets blocked. You will have to endure it for at least 12 days.

Stapelia

Stapelia from the dogbane family exudes the smell of rotten meat, and if it blooms in the warm season, in addition to the smell, flies will flock to it from all around. But many believe that beauty is worth the sacrifice, and therefore are ready to admire these enchanting flowers even in a gas mask.

Orbea

This succulent produces star-shaped flowers that bloom one after another, but it is better not to sniff them. It blooms for a long time. One thing helps - the smell is almost not noticeable from a distance.

Orchids

These are representatives of the genus Bulbophyllum, which emit a deadly smell of decay. The flowers of the family are fantastically beautiful, which cannot be said about their aroma.

It is worth remembering that many plants may have a slightly strange smell if you simply touch their leaves. For example, it is better not to touch Clerodendrum bungei unless necessary.

Plectranthus fruticosa emits a camphor-like aroma, which is only suitable for fighting moths.

This also includes Aichryson from the Crassulaceae family, Nepenthes and other plants.
