Every housewife has incredibly beautiful and fragrant flowers growing in her garden – peonies.
They come in a variety of colors that will appeal to everyone.
However, in order for the flowers to grow well and have lush buds, they need to be renewed once every 4 years.
To do this, it is necessary to separate and clean the plant's rhizome from old roots, root collar particles and dead stems.
The lack of regular rejuvenation of peonies leads to various diseases and weak flowering.
Stages of rejuvenation of peonies
The rejuvenation procedure is best performed at the end of August or throughout September.
First, dig a deep trench around the plant and begin to rock the bush until it comes out of the soil.
Carefully remove excess soil from the roots and let the plant dry for 3-4 hours.
Cut the stems to 10 cm and wash well.
Divide the rhizome into several parts.
Using a sharp, clean knife, cut the pieces into smaller pieces.
Cut off dead, broken and diseased roots, and leave healthy ones 10 cm long with 2-3 buds.
Plant the plant in the ground and after 2 years the peonies will begin to bloom profusely, having an incredible appearance and aroma.
