Ogonyok, or, as it is affectionately called by the people for its love of water, Vanka the wet, is a houseplant called balsam.
The perennial can often be seen on apartment windowsills due to its ability to bloom for a long time and abundantly, said Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer.
However, sometimes, instead of a bright bush, the owner of the balsam is forced to “admire” the peeling stems, on which the leaves miraculously hold on, not to mention the flowers.
The reason for the plant's weakness is most likely a lack of nutrients, so eliminating it and returning the flower to its luxurious appearance is quite simple.
The main thing that you should never forget is that balsam does not tolerate organic matter, so fertilizer in the form of manure and other things can destroy the plant.
For lush flowering, the fireweed requires mineral fertilizers, which contain increased amounts of phosphorus and potassium.
To increase the growth of lush greenery, shoots and leaves with the onset of spring, it is worth “treating” the flame with a complete mineral fertilizer for indoor decorative flowering plants every 10-14 days.
With the arrival of August-September, the amount of fertilizer applied must be gradually reduced - in winter the flower does not need additional feeding.
