Place your orchid in this place with confidence: gardeners have believed in this myth in vain for years

Not all the advice given by gardening bloggers actually works.

There are many myths associated with the orchid. Traditionally, the plant is considered capricious and requires special care.

It is difficult to argue with this statement. The orchid came to the windowsills from the tropics, so the flower needs to be provided with good lighting, temperature conditions, watering, and fertilizing.

Myths arise against the backdrop of orchid capriciousness. For example, an erroneous statement concerns drafts. It is believed that an orchid should not be placed next to an open window.

When airing, you need to ensure that the leaves and buds of the plant are protected from drafts.

But the myth is destroyed by the real state of affairs. More precisely, by the conditions in which the orchid lives and thrives in the wild. Intensive airflow does not affect the flower in any way. Therefore, you can safely place the orchid near an open window.

Much more dangerous for the plant is a sudden change in temperature. For example, an orchid stands near a radiator in winter, the room temperature is +25 °C. At this moment, the window is opened when it is freezing outside. With prolonged exposure, cold air can harm the flower.
