If you didn't have time to replant strawberries in the fall, it's never too late to do it in the spring. Then the main thing is to figure out what to plant in the vacated space.

We will tell you what can be planted after this crop so that you don’t have to grieve about the harvest and wasted effort.

Crop rotation

Not just a word, but the basis of success in agriculture. If you ignore this rule, you can not only remain without a harvest, but also destroy the fertile soil layer on the site, which will be quite difficult to restore.

What to plant after strawberries

1. Start with the simplest ones - peas, beans or beans. You can collect a good harvest, restore the soil, saturate it with some nitrogen, replenish the lack of lost elements.

2. If you decide to plant root vegetables, choose carrots, beets or radishes. The main thing is that the root system is shallow.

3. Melons, squashes, and cucumbers will grow from melons. These crops are relatively resistant to pests and infections, which strawberries can leave behind.

4. Another successful example of green manure is sowing mustard, phacelia, and alfalfa.

5. You can try sowing oats - it will restore the potassium balance and in 2-3 seasons you will be able to harvest nightshades in this place without any problems.

6. Onions and garlic are probably the best option for planting in the first year in a former strawberry bed. They resist fungus and soil-dwelling pests.

7. Celery and parsley will scare away snails and slugs from this place.

8. Decorative flowers that will be accepted include crocuses, daffodils and irises, tulips and peonies.
