The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is abolishing import duties on certain types of fruit and vegetable products.
We are talking about potatoes, carrots and apples supplied to Russia and Belarus.
However, there are restrictions. For example, no more than 5,000 tons of carrots and no more than 20,000 tons of apples can be imported into Belarus duty-free.
These rules will be in effect from January 1 to July 31 next year, Belta reports , citing representatives of the EEC.
Taking into account the smaller harvest this year, the adopted measure will ensure additional supply on the domestic market and increase the availability of vegetables and apples for the population, said Andrey Slepnev, member of the Board (Minister) for Trade of the EEC.
According to him, this benefit will be provided upon confirmation from the authorized body.
By the way. Belarus is represented in the EEC Council by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Igor Petrishenko.
