Belarus is experiencing a price increase. An increase in the cost of some goods and services has been recorded.
In particular, the consumer price index for goods and services in November rose by 0.3% compared to October.
But in annual terms, compared to November last year, prices in the country rose by an average of 5.5%.
These figures were released by the press service of the National Statistical Committee.
Goods
It is noted that November food prices increased by 0.7% on average.
As for non-food products, they became cheaper by 0.1%, while services became more expensive by 0.1%.
According to Belstat, the prices of vegetables (+8.7%), vegetable oil (+4%) and fish (+1.3%) increased the most in November.
Fruits, on the other hand, dropped in price, falling by an average of 2.1%.
Refrigerators and synthetic detergents also became cheaper – by an average of 1.5% and 1.3% respectively. And footwear also dropped in price by the same 1.3% in November.
However, prices for printed products have started to creep up, and over the last month of autumn they have become exactly one percent more expensive.
Services
The cost of taxi rides has increased. In November, there was a price jump of 8.8%, the statistics agency reports.
In addition, November will be remembered by many for the rise in prices for banking services – by an average of 2.1%.
Household services also became more expensive that month – up 1.2 percent.
A significant price drop was observed in November in international tourism – minus 8.4 percent.
By the way. Earlier, the Belarusian authorities predicted the inflation situation by the end of this year – it is expected that it will not go beyond the 6 percent mark.
