Experts from the Eurasian Development Bank report that high growth in population incomes continues in Belarus.
This is stated in their new weekly report on the economic situation in the countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The report was published on the official EDB Telegram channel.
According to the document, in August of this year, real wages of Belarusians showed growth of 12.3% (in July – plus 15.4%).
Analysts emphasize that wages are growing at a high rate in all sectors, including the public sector.
By the way, the figures regarding public sector employees: their salaries, according to the EDB, rose by 11.8% in August (in July – by 12.7%).
Experts also point to the fact that “an increase in the basic wage rate is expected in September” and an increase in teachers’ salaries.
Both of these factors, as predicted by the EDB, should support the growth of public sector salaries and the country's economy as a whole.
It is noted that further growth in the income of Belarusians, coupled with an increase in the volume of consumer lending, will contribute to “maintaining high consumer demand” in the republic.
