How to Make a Dream Bedroom Out of a Small Room: 3 Smart Ideas

20.09.2024 14:51

When decorating a small bedroom, its owners have to consider many aspects: find a place for a closet, decide whether they really need a dressing table, decide whether one chandelier will be enough, etc.

Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino hastened to share advice on how to create an ideal space for rest and sleep even from the smallest room.

Useful window sills

If you plan to use your bedroom not only for sleeping, but also to spend time here in the evenings, you should take care of having a small lounge area.

To save space and avoid using bulky chairs, you can use a window sill. Make sure it is wide enough and can support the weight of a person. If you doubt its strength, install wooden or plasterboard supports under it, and then place a blanket, pillows on top and enjoy reading a book and a cup of coffee.

Hanging window sills

In a small bedroom, it is unlikely that you will be able to place bedside tables, and with them table lamps. Pendant models will be an excellent replacement for them.

If you don't want to do any major work, choose models with external wiring or attach the lamps to the clamps on the headboard. The main thing is that the clamps have a rubber inner layer - otherwise there is a risk of damaging the frame.

Radiator for storage

Typically, the radiator is located under the window, and books, souvenirs, office supplies, cosmetics and other things that do not fit on nightstands or shelves are stored on the windowsill.

If the radiator in your apartment is installed on the wall and there is no window sill above, start making a fake window sill - it can be used for storage or decoration, at your discretion.
