When decorating a kitchen, you need to follow the “work triangle rule.”
Ignoring this principle can result in the room losing its comfort.
It will be very difficult to prepare food in the kitchen: the lack of space and the “clash” of several zones will make themselves felt.
But if the owner of the apartment manages to create a “work triangle” in the kitchen, then cooking will no longer be perceived as torture.
Yulia Tychino, an expert in the field of design and interior design for the online publication BelNovosti, reminded us of an important design rule.
The essence of the work triangle rule
It should be immediately emphasized that the kitchen is divided into three main zones.
The first section is the place where food is prepared. The center is the kitchen stove.
The second zone is the place where dishes are washed and water is collected. It is clear that we are talking about the kitchen sink.
The third section is the place where food is stored in low temperature conditions. Obviously, this means the refrigerator.
To avoid the feeling of excessive crampedness, these areas must be positioned correctly.
The ideal option: the sink, stove and refrigerator should be placed so that these things represent the vertices of a conditional triangle with approximately equal sides.
In other words, if the sink and stove are located on the same line, then the refrigerator should not be placed on the side (it will be too close to one of the already mentioned areas), but on the opposite side.
If this condition is met, the kitchen will become as comfortable as possible: the hostess will be able to easily move from one kitchen area to another.
