Uncoordinated wall transfer
The layout and size of the rooms in an apartment often raise questions, and sometimes the only possible solution the owners of the home see is redevelopment. Spoiler: you shouldn't try to do it yourself.
Unauthorized demolition of walls can lead not only to safety issues, but also to fines. In addition, if you decide to sell the apartment in the future, difficulties may arise, since the redevelopment is not legalized. You will have to return everything to its place to avoid discrepancies with the technical passport.
Therefore, either do not do the redevelopment at all, or do it in accordance with the rules to avoid possible problems.
Uneven walls
Another common problem, especially in older homes, is uneven walls that, although they look smooth, have a slight vertical slope. The unevenness may remain unnoticeable until you place furniture close to the wall and notice gaps where it meets.
The good news is that most interior walls do not require perfect geometric alignment.
To visually hide unevenness, use suitable finishing materials, such as non-woven wallpaper with a chaotic pattern, facade plaster, clapboard or decorative timber.
Slamming door
If you are outside and the keys to the apartment are inside, sometimes the only way out is to break down the door.
Therefore, we advise you not to take risks and immediately choose an entrance door that does not slam shut.
If the moment is missed, at least take care of a duplicate key that would be located outside the house.
