A mirror is one of the most important and functional pieces of furniture.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino emphasizes: in order for a mirror to perform its functions as effectively as possible and decorate your interior, it needs to be placed correctly.
Basic rules for placing mirror decor
Place the mirror so that it receives diffused natural light. However, it is better to avoid direct sunlight, as it can cause the mirror to become dull.
Do not use too many mirrors in one room. In the bedroom, as well as in the living room or other rooms, it is enough to install two or three mirrors.
Place mirrors so that they are not parallel to each other. This is especially true for narrow corridors. Such placement of reflective surfaces has a depressing effect on a person.
Avoid placing the mirror next to large pieces of furniture such as sofas, dressers or cabinets. This can create the effect of excessive volume, which will not decorate the room and will disrupt the visual harmony of the interior.
Install the mirror strictly vertically, not at an angle, to avoid image distortion.
Consider the optimal dimensions of the mirror. The maximum height of the mirror should not exceed 1.5 meters, the minimum – 0.4 meters, and the width should be at least 40-50 centimeters.
