Without curtains it is impossible to create a harmonious interior, except perhaps in rare exceptions.

But basically this detail is called obligatory and almost the main one. But few people know what types of curtains exist and for what rooms this or that sample of window textile is suitable.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, spoke about the main types of curtains.

French

These are mainly elegant models made of translucent or light fabric. A characteristic stitch is made in the middle, and the curtains are also decorated with cords, ribbons, tapes, and equipped with a lifting mechanism.

These curtains do not slide to the sides, but rise up.

Suitable for a living room in a classical or neoclassical style.

Austrian

Not much different from the French. Austrian ones are assembled only from the bottom. Suitable for classic and neoclassical styles.

Roman

These curtains resemble horizontal slats that fold when raised.

You can even use them in the kitchen and on the balcony. They hardly get dirty and are resistant to fading.

Japanese

These are long, translucent pieces of fabric that sometimes don't even protect from sunlight.

Suitable for any room in the spirit of minimalism.

In addition, roller blinds (suitable for any room), “day-night” (used more often in the bedroom or on balconies), pleated blinds (called fabric blinds, which can be used even in living rooms together with curtains and drapes), as well as blackout curtains and, of course, blinds are found in the interior.

Previously we talked about how to visually increase the area of an apartment .
