On the one hand, a carpet on the floor is a dust collector. And if you lay it in the bedroom, you will have to breathe in this dust while sleeping.
But on a winter morning you want to step on the soft pile rather than the cold floor, because not everyone can put on slippers the first time in the morning, especially when they are half asleep.
Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told how to choose a carpet for the bedroom and how to lay it out.
Most often, people purchase carpet runners that can be laid on all sides of the bed.
They are easy to clean and you won't have to move furniture to remove carpets.
However, designers believe that placing a large rug under the bed is not such a bad idea.
Can I put a rug under my bed?
In this design, the carpet improves the image of the bedroom. “Peeping out” from under the bed, the rug seems to serve as its continuation.
In addition, a large canvas, unlike narrow paths, protects against noise if there are restless neighbors living below.
For residents of the first floors or private houses, this is another layer of thermal insulation.
And if the bedroom has a wooden floor or creaky parquet, then the carpet will again reduce the noise level.
When You Shouldn't Choose a Large Rug
The only exception is a small bedroom, where the selected product will take up all the space from wall to wall.
When paired with a bed, a large rug will overload the space and make the bedroom feel cluttered.
You should also avoid placing a large rug under your bed if it may be difficult to clean.
