Why the interior looks boring and tasteless: 5 possible reasons

The use of beautiful furniture and expensive finishing materials does not at all guarantee that the premises will have a stylish appearance.

Incorrect arrangement of things and overdoing it with some details can cause a lack of elegance and comfort in the interior.

In addition, residents could make a mistake in choosing the style and colors.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, listed the mistakes that make an interior tasteless.

Lots of furniture

This is a common mistake made by those who live in apartments with a small area.

Lack of space forces owners of premises to place furniture and various household appliances tightly. People try to occupy every free corner with these things.

But you shouldn't do that. An abundance of sofas, nightstands and shelves will not make the rooms beautiful and comfortable. Quite the opposite.

Lots of mirrors

It is clear that reflective surfaces visually transform a cramped room into a wide one.

But one or two mirrors will be quite enough. You shouldn't make a room full of mirrors. It's a sign of bad taste. Besides, it's not very pleasant to be in such a "labyrinth".

Lots of decorations

Of course, indoor plants, paintings and figurines decorate the premises. But only if used in moderation.

If there are too many figurines and flowers (especially artificial ones), then guests will clearly come to the conclusion that the apartment's residents lack a sense of style.

An attempt to "combine" several styles

It is advisable to choose one style. Trying to combine several is not worth it.

Moreover, different design options do not always go well with each other.

Incompatible colors

A room can lose its interesting appearance if the colors are chosen incorrectly.

Remember that blue does not go with black, and green does not go with orange.

Study the color compatibility chart before painting your walls and furniture.
