Here are a few things to consider before picking up a paint brush or roller.
1. Prepare the surface
In addition to cleaning and sanding the surface, you need to use side light sources in your work. Otherwise, you won’t be able to see the surface as it is, and after painting, all the imperfections will be in plain sight.
2. Dust and primer
Before you start treating the walls or other surface with primer, you need to remove dust and other dirt. This will prevent defects from appearing, and thanks to the primer, the paint will lay evenly.
3. Painting methods
You need to use painting technique, not smear paint randomly on the wall. Start working from the center, evenly distributing the paint, rolling it from top to bottom.
4. Number of layers
You should not expect any special results after painting in one layer. The second layer is applied only after the first one has completely dried.
If the colors are bright, then the base underneath them should be perfectly smooth. And if there were stains on the wall, then they will not be possible to paint over even with bright samples.
5. When to paint
Not the best choice is a hot and sunny day. In this case, the paint dries quickly and is distributed unevenly. If you work under artificial lighting and not the best quality, then unpainted areas may remain.
