Owners of one-room apartments face a difficult task - their goal is to make their home comfortable and ergonomic.
The main thing, says designer Yulia Tychino , an expert at the online publication BelNovosti, is to avoid making several fatal mistakes during renovations in a small apartment – otherwise the space will remain cramped and uncomfortable to live in.
1. Little storage space
It is impossible to properly organize living space without thinking very carefully about where clothes, bed linen, dishes and other necessary things will be stored.
You can save space by using ceiling-mounted structures and mezzanines.
2. Wardrobe equipment
Even if you have dreamed of living in an apartment with a walk-in closet your entire adult life, in the case of a one-room apartment, your cherished desire should still be postponed for later.
A full-fledged dressing room requires a whole room, but until you have one in stock, take a closer look at a built-in wardrobe that reaches up to the ceiling.
3. No bed
Instead of replacing a full-size bed with a sofa that needs to be unfolded every time you want to sleep, use a transformable piece of furniture that hides in the wall.
Or, separate the room using a curtain or partition – this way, you will have a comfortable sleep, and you will not lose your living room with a full-fledged place to relax.
